My white Dame Sanctus T400 (String-thru Jazz Bass) is for sale. PICS TO FOLLOW this weekend, please stand by.
No hidden defects, very minimal scratches only. Reason for selling is because I'm shifting to a less expensive passive bass, and I'm investing the extra money on a Sansamp DI.
P15,000 Only with Original Dame Case. Negotiable!

10 Years In Music
TOP TEN MOST MEMORABLE PERFORMANCES
I just celebrated a decade of playing music late last year. I started playing guitar sometime in the mid-90’s, but it took me 2 years before I could play in a band. I stayed in Riyadh for 5 years, and honestly, there was no legit band in our school, the music scene there was non-existent due to strict laws by the Kingdom. I arrived in the Philippines in 1997 and immediately did what I had to do. Without wasting time, I formed a band with some of my friends, started performing, and since then my life has changed so much. I’ve finally discovered what I was born for.
I thought about writing a list of my most memorable performances to cherish the 10 years that I’ve spent in learning and playing music. It is always good to look at the past, to remember the good times, and also re-learn from the bad experiences to maintain your strength and humility. I spent the later part of 2007 questioning myself about the path that I’ve chosen. A lot of challenges and adversities clouded my thinking, making me oblivious to the fact that I was approaching my 10th year as a musician, which explains why this article came late. The New Year prompted me to write this one.
I had a hard time recalling my past gigs; there would be roughly 400+ performances in my resume (amateur and professional). I had to squeeze in 3 months worth of performances into one for the contractual bookings; it is impossible to recall them all because we played every night.
In Chronological Order.
10.) First Performance (Late 1997)
My 1st performance with my first band was shortened to a minute; we performed “Monkey Wrench” by Foo Fighters, and just totally got lost onstage. We didn’t know what happened to us. Although the performance was about me not remembering so much, it is still very important because it was the first.
9.) First Front Act (1998)
On our 3rd performance, we were pit against older amateur rock bands to front for one of the Philippine’s most influential rock act, POT. They did influence me a lot as a bass player, and as a human being. Mally (bassist) and Ian (guitars) had their names and a POT “logo” carved with a pocketknife on my first bass guitar. The battered bass guitar rests in my room. I made of fool of myself that night by playing the intro to “yugyugan na” while we were setting up, I saw Mally come out of the backstage to see if we’re really going to murder their hit remake.
8.) XCIX Victory Party (1999)
Seniors are always bound to win the Boy’s High cheering competition, that’s the truth. Our batch held the celebration at a clubhouse in Bakakeng, Baguio City. It’s a private party, and it was my first time to perform for more than 4 hours without putting down my bass, there were no other bass players in that party, but the guitarists, vocalists and drummers didn’t have to worry about substitutes. This is one of my happiest moments in highschool.
7.) Muziklaban 1999
If you search “muziklaban” at wikipedia, the results only displays champs since 2001. In my 2nd semester at college in SLU, I was at home one afternoon when a guy named “Sev” called and told me if I could play bass for them, I immediately obliged and our first gig was at Muziklaban 1999. Buddha Mina was our drummer (he now plays with The Space Flower Show). This gig marked the start of my long and deep relationship with Sev and Ruby David, in fact I still play with them.
6.) Eden Seafood Village, Penang Malaysia
(Dec 2000-March 2001)
This was when we turned professional and were baptized by fire. I was only 18 at that time and without any prior experiences, we got booked in this restaurant by the beach (the stage actually faces the beach). We played there for 3 months without a day off. Adjusting to the changes brought about by turning professional is a difficult task. I can remember thinking about going back to college, but then this is where I was put to the test as a musician. There’s a vast reservoir of stories to be told about our stay in Penang, but that’s nothing compared to our next stint.
5.) Banthai Beach Resort, Phuket Thailand (March-May 2001)
After Malaysia, we moved to Phuket, where we once again found ourselves performing in a semi-outdoor stage facing the beach. The pressures of our job are still harsh, but the treatment we got here was rewarding. Our salary was just fair, but we were granted hotel accommodations for 3 months, and we can order at the restaurant anything we want. The place where we live in is just a few walks away from the center of partying and other sinful activities, the beach is just across our place (like in Penang). We also got to take part in the Songkran Festival, it’s a crazy, crazy festival. Yes, we worked every night (3, 1 hour sets a night, 6 times a week) but our job is to create a party for other people by playing music, we made friends with a lot of them and we drink with them after our set. The partying and drinking seemed endless here.
4.) New Years Eve, Hyatt Hotel, Hua Hin Thailand (2002)
We flew to Thailand for this one, and our agent took care of our expenses. We performed for the New Years Eve. Hua Hin is a very lovely place, I’ve been there twice, and I love the tranquil feel of the beaches. How I wish I could go back there.
3.) Avaya Group of Companies Convention. Le Meridian Hotel (2002)
Group of Korean and Japanese Companies, Avaya, is having a convention primarily focused on the group’s role as one of World Cup 2002’s major sponsor. They have chosen 5 star Le Meridian Hotel as the venue, and we were hired to grace the stage. Avaya also presented the World Cup Trophy, which they sponsored.
2.) Narai Hotel, Bangkok Thailand (2002)
4 Star Narai Hotel is situated in the heart of Bangkok’s downtown, Silom Road. We performed here for just 2 nights. Some of the details are too personal to divulge in print. I got in deep trouble here. Our agent took care of the problem. On the 2nd time we were booked here, they gave us hotel accommodation. When my family and me went to Bangkok last year, I visited the place to relive memories of those overwhelming experiences that made me stronger as a person.
1.) Brewyard Bar, Baguio City (2005-2006)
In our 9 months as house band here, there are a number of good experiences to be cherished. During peak seasons we would play here from Wednesday to Sunday (2-3, 1 hour sets a night). I really appreciate the Brewyard experience because it was a time when I’m struggling to put my career as a professional musician back on track, I learned and re-learned a lot of things after being in hiatus for 2 years.
The Other Top Ten. Some gigs that are as notable and exciting as the first top 10. More stories next month.
1.)Sheraton Hotel, Bangkok Thailand
2.)Singapore (December 2000)
3.)KoRn covers at Boy's High
4.)Graduation Ball
5.)Spirits Discotheque
6.)SLU Center Reunion
7.)Session Rd, with VOCAS artists
8.)Star in a Million Finalists and Sheryn Regis
9.)VOCAS Jam With a lot of percussionists.
10.)Ayuyang Jam with Samba Percussion group

I'm selling my bass, I bought it as a temporary substitute, I only used it for recording 3 songs, I've never used it for gigs. I'm buying something more wicked, kaya bagsak presyo na siya, p7k na lang!!!
By the way, it is a musicman stingray copy by RJ, its in very good condition, no problems or scratches (except for the pickguard)
Here are some pictures of the bass

I play bass with a group called Amber Moon, Our music is a semi-volatile concoction of Rock, Alternative, Funk and Soul. Our music is our ticket to our own freedom.
We made a smart move to get out of the low-paying pop band scene, build our studio, and concentrated on writing and recording our own songs. We also made a vital decision to replace some members. Now our final line-up focuses 100% on writing original material. I believe it’s about time we do our own thing after all these years of waiting and all the sacrifices that we made, we are tired of covering songs, and we are so hungry to play our own music. Should’ve done this before but we can’t, we were too busy trying to make ends meet.
I’ve been playing with core members Sev (guitarist) and Ruby (vocals) since 1999. We recently acquired Jason Sta Maria (Guitars) and his younger brother Jed (drums). I’ll introduce them at friendster and myspace as soon as we’re done organizing our account.
We’re almost done recording 7 songs at Sound Jive Music Studio. We have a few more songs to arrange and record before the year ends.
We were supposed to take-off early next year. We were planning to go on a blitzkrieg of performances starting January as a prelude to our plans to push our stuff to the next level, but the band has been blessed with good news, as our guitarist and vocalist will be proud parents soon. Our voyage towards our goals will slow down a bit, fortunately giving us more time to write more songs.
We already have our contacts inside the industry just waiting for our output.
But still I can’t wait; I really want to do my own thing right now. My bandleader has given me permission to accept side projects as long as Amber Moon keeps on moving forward.
For now, the struggle continues, the anxiety will be prolonged.

Current Music: AmberMoon - With You
At last I've managed to put the "closed" sign on my old blog
http://funkamediko.blogspot.comVisit the site, and you won't see a sign for sure, but I think my Tagboard is fucked up, and my last post was early 2006.
Friendster blogging sucks, and no one reads my old blog. So here I am now at LiveJournal. I haven't been writing much for a long time, but writing has been and will continue to be a huge part of my life.
And no, I don't listen to Early November, dammit...
